Hello and thank you for addressing your concern.

According to your statement, we believe a thorough clerking, investigation and examination needs to be done first on our behalf, in order to clearly assess the potential positive symptoms of COVID-19. Correspondingly, a normal blood test cannot specifically detect COVID-19 or replace a COVID-19 screening because

  • normal blood test doesn’t have the specific criteria to establish firm detection properties
  • different individual might have a different rate an infected virus multiplies in the body
  • there will usually be two sets of test for a COVID-19 screening spanning a few days apart
  • the sensitivity of a COVID-19 swab test is very high in order to adequately reduce any sort of false-negative or even false-positive results

Want to boost your body’s immunity? Supplements are always a viable option!

Notably, there are many other criteria that are equally vital in diagnosing a patient, that usually includes

  • clerking & history taking
  • risk factor evaluation
  • physical examination
  • laboratory & other diagnostical findings

In need of a second opinion? Our pulmonologist are here to help.

You may also click on this link to directly request a COVID-19 screening test. Or contact the Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC). Other than that, do practice good hand hygiene and wear your face mask in public.
