Effect of meningococcal vaccine
Hi doc…i had meningoccal vaccine and a day after i took the blood test.and after a weeks,i get the result show that varicella zoster,measles is detected,so is it because of effect of the vaccine

Based on the statement above, we understand that you took meningococcal vaccine recently and was tested positive for varicella zoster and measles. We will try to answer question about this matter.
Meningococcal vaccine is to protect against meningococcal bacteria infection causing serious disease such as meningitis and bacteremia. Side effects include:
- Soreness, redness, swelling at injection site
- Fatigue
- Headache
- Muscle or joint pain
- Fever or chills
- Nausea or diarrhoea
It does not lead to Varicella Zoster and Measles infection. The positive result from these organisms that you mentioned were unclear whether it was an antibody tests or active infection tests. Further information is required.
