I having psoriasis, can I take vaccine ?

Greetings and thank you for contacting us.

Based on the latest information, the COVID-19 vaccine is safe for those that have psoriasis.

National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) COVID-19 Task Force updated its guidance to include information on vaccines for those with psoriatic disease. That guidance states that, “Patients with psoriatic disease, who do not have contraindications to vaccination, should receive an mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccine as soon as it becomes available to them based on federal, state and local guidance.”

Without a doubt, all levels of society (including those at risk) are very much encouraged to get the COVID-19 vaccination in order for us to eliminate the chain of COVID-19 infection in the country and the world. Furthermore, at the very least (on a personal level) preventing the risk of developing complications if unfortunately were to be infected by the virus.

However, it is better that you get further confirmation from a doctor or specialist at a nearby clinic or hospital, as well as report to the medical officer at your Vaccination Center.

You can also contact the Crisis Preparedness and Response Center (CPRC) or JKJAV. In addition, continue the routine of regular hand hygiene, practice social/physical incarceration, wear face masks outdoors and adhere to other pandemic SOPs.
