Thank you for asking question.

I understand about your concern regarding your son’s risk of COVID19 infection since he is currently having runny nose two days after you are back from Melbourne. Based on his symptom and recent travel history, he may want to answer the quiz on Risk Assessment for COVID-19 to evaluate your health status in regards to this disease. After completing this quiz, he will be classified into several categories as follows:

  1. Low risk: He needs to perform self-quarantine at home for at least 14 days. You also need to monitor his health such as taking his temperature and look out for any COVID-19 symptoms like coughing, fever, and shortness of breath.
  2. Moderate risk: You have to bring him to the nearest healthcare facility to obtain further confirmation.
  3. High risk: You need to bring him to visit your nearest healthcare facility immediately. If he is confirmed with COVID-19, he will be referred to a specific hospital and receive further treatment there. He will also be quarantined at the healthcare facility for surveillance.
Please act according to your son’s risk.

Nevertheless, runny nose can be due to multiple problem besides COVID19.

  • Viral infection
  • allergic rhinitis
  • sinusitis
