We truly understand your concern with regard to your current condition and COVID-19 situation. However, our views would only reflect based on the description that you have brought forth into the forum.

As far as I’m concern, PCR test specifically function to detect the presence of the coronavirus virus within the human body. Hence it is used as a gold standard to examine whether or not we are infected by COVID-19. Typically every close contact individual is required to perform PCR testing.

However, there are many other criteria that are equally vital in diagnosing a patient (for any other condition), that would usually include

• clerking & history taking
• risk factor evaluation
• physical examination
• laboratory & other diagnostical findings

Or contact the Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) to determine when would be the best time to proceed with the testing. In the mean time, I would advise you to voluntarily practice home quarantine for the next few days. Other than that, do practice good hand hygiene and wear your face mask in public.
