Am I infected with Covid 19?

I am an university studentfrom UKM. Today’s morning I was feeling some chest pain and difficult in breathing sometimes. Do I infected? I have no symptoms of fever, coughing or runny nose. thank you.

Thank you for your question.

First and foremost, I understand your concern regarding this issue of coronavirus since there’s an outbreak of the virus.

It is difficult to answer your question because symptoms of coronavirus is very vague. There’s a long list of other diseases that can cause the exact same symptoms as coronavirus infection. Thus to help us with the decision, we should assess your risk profile. You can answer the quiz on Risk Assessment for COVID-19 to evaluate your health status in regards to this disease. After completing this quiz, you will be classified into several categories as follows and please act accordingly.

In the meantime, I would highly suggest you to follow this guideline from Centre of Disease Control (CDC) in order to prevent infection:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

  • Stay home when you are sick.

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces

I wish you will always be in your best health and thank you.
