Me (20/F) and my boyfriend (20/M) were dry humping in only our underwear on day 9 and 10 (5th and 6th of March) of my cycle. Afterwards, I found that he had a wet spot from pre cum on his underwear, however it wasn’t particularly soaked. He did not ejaculate. My underwear was wet from my own lubrication as well. Several moments after, I took the underwear off and he fingered me. I’m concerned that sperm from his pre cum may have travelled through the wet spot onto my soaked underwear, therefore making it land on the vagina. The fingering may have given the sperm a little boost up into the cervix. I normally have regular 26 day cycles. We did not use any other forms of contraception. I did not take plan B. I’m sorry if it’s a silly question, I’m just really anxious. Can pregnancy happen this way? Thank you doctor!
Hello and thank you for your question.
Based on your question, I understand that you are worried about your problem. I will try to help you.
For your information, dry humping is a type of sexual contact that can be pleasurable for both partners, medically known as outercourse.
In your scenario, dry humping is unlikely to cause pregnancy. When sperm meets an egg, it usually involves genitals and bodily fluids. So, if both people are dressed, this is unlikely.
But there are exceptions. Pregnancy can occur if the genitals accidentally touch or if the vagina contacts semen shortly after ejaculation. This may occur when:
The clothes or underwear of two people are ripped.
Someone sits naked on a surface where there is ejaculate, such as underwear, shortly after dry humping
A dry hump leads to a wet hump or accidental sex
Even if these things happen, the chance of pregnancy is low because the semen must travel to the egg. This is unlikely if the semen does not enter the vagina.
Despite this, I still advise you to use UPT to confirm your pregnancy status or seek professional advice on contraceptive options if you are curious.
