COVID-19 - Is it airborne as WHO consider “airborne precautions’ for medical staff
Is the news on WHO is considering “airborne precaution” for medical staff after a new study showed the coronavirus can survive in the air in some setting?
Is this new fake or true.?
If it is true, must all the medical staff use PPE suitable for airborne instead of droplets?
My company has 3 clinics serving factories workers.

Greetings. Thank you for your question.
Regarding the news for medical staff are advised to use PPE airborne precaution is true. This is not because of the virus is airborne but, because in some procedure the virus might disperse further than it should be. For example during intubation. That’s why, although it is transmitted through droplets, airborne precaution is necessary to healthcare worker that are treating patient with COVID-19.
I hope my question would answer your question. Thank you.
