Good day,

Thank you for your question. Based on your question, you’re worried that your husband might have been exposed to COVID-19 after visiting Australia 2 weeks ago. He is currently experiencing symptoms such as fever and headache since yesterday.

Given that he has just returned from Australia. I would encourage him to answer the quiz on Risk Assessment for COVID-19 to evaluate your health status in regards to this disease. After completing this quiz, you will be classified into several categories.

Besides COVID-19 infection, his fever can be caused by any other health problems apart from respiratory illnesses such as any other bacterial or viral infections. I would advise you to monitor your symptoms of your husband and if it progress please be advised to seek treatment at any nearby clinic or hospitals.

You are also advised to follow these guidelines from the Centre of Disease Control (CDC) as a prevention method from contracting COVID-19:

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Stay home when you are sick.
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
