Hello and good afternoon.
Thank you for your question.

Based on your question, I understand that you are worried about your problem. I will try to help you.

For your information, a jock itch (tinea cruris) is a fungal infection that affects the skin surface of your genitals, buttocks and inner thighs. The symptoms are as what you’ve mentioned : an itch, redness, and often round shaped rashes in the are that is warm or moist areas around your body.

Keeping your groin area dry and clean is important, and these are some recommendations:

  • Avoid wearing tight clothing
  • Ensure your trousers or underwear are fully dry before wearing them.
  • Wear underwear that absorbs sweat like cotton
  • Avoid sharing towels or using wet towels
  • Avoid sharing clothing with others

Because a jock itch is caused by fungal infection, it will require anti-fungal medication to be treated, and not by anti-inflammatory or other medications that relieves itching.

However, in order for us to provide you with an accurate choice of treatment and management, we need additional details and a thorough examination to explore further into your current complaints.

Therefore, I strongly encourage you to consult a doctor for proper treatment. You can contact our doctor online for further information and treatment.

I hope this answer helps you. Thank you.
