I am allergic to aspirin, can I take mRNA COVID vaccine?

I had an allergic reaction to aspirin when I was 13 years old (I am 40 now), I would like to ask if I am able to take the Pfizer vaccine. Is there any effect on taking the mRNA vaccine with people who are allergic to aspirin?

Hello and thank you for using our services

We understand that you want to know if you can get the COVID-19 vaccine even if you have an allergy to aspirin, we will try to help you with this matter.

For your information, there is no contraindication for people with allergy to aspirin to take COVID-19 vaccine. It is safe for them to take the vaccine.

However, if you have any history of immediate onset anaphylaxis to multiple classes of drugs or unexplained anaphylaxis, it is better that you get further confirmation from a doctor or specialist , as well as report to the medical officer at your Vaccination Center, to prevent any serious complications .

You can also contact the Crisis Preparedness and Response Center (CPRC) or JKJAV.
