Long term cough and negative covid

I am 22 years old women. I’ve been coughing for 5 days now without phlegm and my throat is a bit sore. I’ve noticed that i have cough since i didn’t eat on time and i have a history coughing for the whole month and did check at the doctor and the gave me antibiotic, cough syrup and i dont remember the name but its to reduce swelling inside my body because i felt my inside body was hurt when i cough. I did check the covid test and i was negative. The question is why am i having a long term coughing? Im not a smoker or drink alcohol and do i have gerd (googled)?
