Redness in left eye, no itchiness or soreness

I have some redness on my left eye. The redness is on one side of the cornea (inner eye). I put some eyedrops last night and it appears less red today.

Would like to know what may have caused it. Also, if there is a need to go to a clinic or hospital?

Thank you
