What to do after Covid-19 Test?

Dear Sir/Madam,

I’m a 25 years old male that was confirmed positive on 9th of Jan 2021. I have had high fever and cough on 3rd of Jan midnight and have recovered from fever on 6th of Jan. The stubborn cough went away on 13th of Jan.

I live with my 2 family members, and have self quarantined myself in my room since the day I exhibit symptoms. My family members are aged 50 & 75, which is high risk but they did not exhibit any symptoms and was tested negative on RTK-Antigen.

But MOH/KKM have not called me yet on what I should do, so I hope any doctors here can advise me on what I should do for myself and my family. This is been very hard for my family and I as I do not know whether I am still infectious after such a long period of time & we are not able to leave our unit to get our daily necessities.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Thank you for your question.

For your information, a second COVID-19 screening is usually required to ensure you are no longer able to spread the virus and are thereby naturally considered to have recovered from a coronavirus infection. However due to a number of cases of reinfection we highly doubt that any recovered patient are totally immunized by the virus until further notice, hence further precaution must me made from time to time.

Want to boost your body’s immunity? Supplements are always a viable option!

I would advise you to wait patiently for MOH/KKM to contact you, as the waiting list for a secondary screening might take a while due to the increase in the number of daily cases that we are facing at the moment. Or contact the Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) to report your current situation. Other than that, please continue to practice good hand hygiene, physical/social distancing, wearing a face mask - even within the house. Keep in touch with the current pandemic SOP & updates as much as possible.

In the mean time, I would also encourage you to answer this quiz on Risk Assessment for COVID-19 to evaluate your health status in regards to this disease. After completing this quiz, you will be classified into several categories. Further instructions will be given at the end of the quiz. Please act accordingly.
