Can eat spicy food?

Can i eat spicy food if i have itchy throat that sometimes trigger coughing for more than a month already. I used to have sore throat too. I don’t have postnasal drip but sometimes I feel like theres phlegm in my throat but i can’t get it out, but no I don’t have postnasal drip. I don’t know if it is phlegm or just thick saliva because the last time I tried to make myself vomit and only thick strands of saliva came out. So can I still eat spicy food, will it get worse?
