Quarantine due to Close Contact
My 4 years old daughter previously had been admitted due to close contact with her friend who was tested positive.
During the admission I am the only person can accompany her. Upon discharge, we need to fill up the “Perintah Pemerhatian dan Pengawasan Bagi Kontak Jangkitan 2019” form.
Before we went back, I did ask the officer who issue the letter whether am I also quarantined. She said “NO”. The letter is just a proof to my company for the absence of leave taken to take care of my quarantined child and since my daughter is underage, I need to sign the letter of acknowledgment.
According to that officer who issued the order, I dont have to be quarantined. Is that correct? Can I still come to office during the 14days (quarantine period)?

Thank you for your question. Since you do not have to be quarantined, you can attend to your duties as usual. However, since you have taken care of your child at the isolation wards, you should take precautions and practice them well. These are the guidelines from the Centre of Disease Control (CDC):
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
