Recurrent yeast infection

Hi, I’ve been encountered almost 5 times of vagina yeast infection within this almost half year , average once a month , I don’t have irregular period, and my sex life is very low average 3 times a month. And I scare to consult gynecologist for Pap smear test

For your information, having repetitive yeast infection is a serious condition as there could be a more serious underlying disease. Please consult a specialist of gynecology to further confirm the cause of this problem. Among underlying problem that might lead to continuous vaginal infections are:

  • Vaginal douching
  • Hormonal imbalances caused by estrogen and progesterones
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Immunodeficiency such as HIV

Regarding the pap smear, it is best that you understand a pap smear test is very safe and minimally invasive. Because you are sexually active, a pap smear test should not feel pain at all. Pap smear involves the procedure of inserting a narrow tube to then scraped a bit of your cell using a stick that looks like a large cotton bud. Therefore, it is highly suggested that you do perform the test if recommended by your doctor.
