For travelers who have history of travel to Italy (other than the banned city. areas) are they subjected to Mandatory quarantine for 14 days at Entry Point in Malaysia?
Can you let explain more on the control of entry point for those high risk countries, Italy, Japan, Korea and Hong Kong as stated in the self risk assessment at virtual Portal Health Advisory? Is this self risk assessment mandatory to all travelers from Italy, Japan, Korea and Hong Kong?

Thank you for asking question. For your information, the quarantine is required when you experiencing the symptoms of cough, fever or sore throat. If you didn’t experience the symptoms, the quarantine is not mandatory. The self risk assessment is not mandatory but it may act as a guidance for the travellers to assess their condition.

You may want to answer the quiz on Risk Assessment for COVID-19 to evaluate your health status in regards to this disease. After completing this quiz, you will be classified into several categories as follows:

  1. Low risk: You have to perform self-quarantine at home for at least 14 days. You also have to monitor your health such as taking your temperature and look out for any COVID-19 symptoms like coughing, fever, and shortness of breath.

  2. Moderate risk: You have to visit your nearest healthcare facility to obtain further confirmation.

  3. High risk: You have to visit your nearest healthcare facility immediately. If you are confirmed with COVID-19, you will be referred to a specific hospital and receive further treatment there. You will also be quarantined at the healthcare facility for surveillance.
