Self Quarentine time COVID 19
Hi Dr, For COVID-19 Self quarentine, How long does it require before I can resure work? Today will be day 5 days since return from Overseas Country. I visited chile, ecuardor, peru, colombia from 22 Feb until 5th March. What is the next step ? I have not fever, sore throat and short of breath symptoms ? How long shall I wait ?

Thank you for your question. Self-quarantine, when indicated, should lasts for 14 days. For your case, since you are asymptomatic and you came back from countries not of high risk for COVID-19, there is no need for self-quarantine. According to our MOH protocol, self-quarantine is indicated for the following scenarios:
- Close contact with positive cases, with or without symptoms.
- Symptomatic with travel history to high risk countries such as China, Japan, Korea, Italy and Iran.
- Symptomatic with history of close contact with people confirmed with COVID-19 infection.
Self-quarantine should also come from a healthcare professional after deliberate history taking and examination.
You may consult a MOH doctor by clicking Ask Doctor at the Ministry of Health website (COVID-19 Portal) to ask any health issues related to COVID-19 starting from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.
