Spotting for 6 days during the expected period time then getting heavier with a bit red in colour and a little clot at day 7. Is is normal?

I’m 36 years old and married for 1 and half year. I’ve been trying to conceived. Average of my period cycle is 35 days. But it’s very often vary from 32 days to 40 days.

Normally, I will spotting for 2-3 days before period then period with normal flow for 3-5 days and spotting again for 2 days to end my period duration. But, I feel a bit strange for this month period. Thanks for your answer in advance.

Hello. Thank you for the question.

Based on your explaination, we believe you are experiencing a normal heavy menstrual that occurs at some time in some healthy women. However, there are certain significant causes of heavy or lenghty period during your group age such as:

  • Hormonal imbalance
  • Ovary dysfunction
  • Polyps and fibroids
  • Malignancy
  • Coagulation & bleeding disorders (Easy bleeding)
  • Obesity
  • Organ failure such as liver or renal failure
  • Infections.
  • Other sexual organ dysfunction

Blood clots that you’ve experience is a result of the heavy bleeding (Plenty blood = Noticable clots).

However, you should check with your nearest doctor to undergo diagnostic confirmation tests if the condition is getting worse.
