Take sample of Covid-19 at home

Hi Dr. I’m a female of 45. I started having mild cough since last 2 weeks, have mild but constant headache, increased of body temperature but not fever, ache on the body and fingers, ache on the calves and feel cold on the feet. I’m not sure if I had a close contacts with suspected/positive Covid-19 people but in the last few weeks I went to public places- Mid Valley, Publika and Brem Mall KL. FYI, I’ve taken the online general screening by MOH and the result was ‘mild-medium’. Ref. to the above, am I suspected? What should I do next?

Secondly, I read the MOH’s Press Release on 10 March 2020 on ‘Pengambilan Sampel Covid-19 Di Rumah’. Please explain the details. TQ so much.

Thank you for your question.

First and foremost, I understand your concern regarding this issue of coronavirus since there’s an outbreak of the virus. Mild-medium indicates that you should monitor your symptoms for now as symptoms such as cough can also be due to multiple reasons apart from COVID19.

In the government hospital, they will screen for COVID19 in high risk patient.

Nevertheless, we also provide home testing services, accessible through this link: COVID-19 Screening At Home. You may find the details from the link.

You may consult a MOH doctor by clicking Ask Doctor at the Ministry of Health website (COVID-19 Portal) to ask any health issues related to COVID-19 starting from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.

After 5.00 pm till 12.00 am, please direct your enquiries to our DoctorOnCall website at this link https://www.doctoroncall.com.my/tanya/.

I hope you would always be in your best health and thank you.
