Can i treat this fever as regular fever? Need medical advise (included temperature reading and medical condition history)
Greetings to the doctors…
My brother has been having fever for almost 4 days… His temperature is in range 37.8 celcius to 39.3 celcius. It is fluctuating…on the past 4 days, the temperature reading will be high during at night to the early morning ( 11 pm - 6 am) and the reading will be close to the normal temperature during afternoon to the evening…He had taken paracetamol 2 tablets at every 4 hours and a lot of fluid but the temperature still fluctuating…

For your information, the history of his medical condition
- diagnosed born at birth : diaphragmatic hernia with eventration right lung.
- at present condition : fibrosis right lung (only 1 lung functioning) Treatment at PPUM
- now taking Symbicort Turbuhaler for the asthma treatment
So, the question i want to ask you…should i treat this fever as regular fever and just keep doing what i have been doing ( take panadol and drink a lot of water)…
What is your advice regarding this?

We understand your concern regarding your brother’s condition. For your information it is best for him to seek medical attention with a doctor as the symptoms of fever is very broad and non-specific. Further and detailed history need to be taken and physical examination needed to be done so that the cause can be find out. Other than that, it is not advisable to treat without knowing the cause.
