Hey and thank you for the question.
A painful throat and swollen gum can be very uncomfortable. The main problems are pain and stinging sensation in the throat, especially when we eat and swallow. A sore throat occurs as part of your body immune response to infections such as bacteria or virus.
Your natural immune response will lead to inflammation process and cause swelling of the mucous membranes on the throat. A painful throat is often the early sign of a cold. However, a painful throat from a cold often gets better or it can goes away after the first day or two. Other cold symptoms such as a runny nose, fever, watery eyes and congestion may follow the painful throat.
Strep painful throat, which is an infection due to a bacteria called streptococcus bacteria, is the common cause of sore throats and tonsillitis. With streptoccoccus throat, the sore throat is often more severe and remained for at least a week. Since you are having contact with a hospital setting, it is more likely that you are getting the infection from it. Fortunately, there are several natural ways that may provide relief, with most of them are supported by scientific evidence.
You can easily get ear, nose & throat problems, but don’t let it get to you.
Rest is the key: Hours of rest is the key relieving a fever. You may find yourself need 10 hours of sleep each night, so don’t need to set the alarm. You will be most comfortable in a humid and warm environment. Drink plenty of water: It’s also vital to stay hydrated by drinking a lot of water. This will make mucus flow more easily and helps to ease the congestion.
Pain killer/paracetamol: paracetamol is used to reduce the body temperature and also acts as a pain killer. it also can be used in headaches, backache or colds. Lastly, strepsils: it is good to relieve the sore throat. You can obtain it in any health store.
