Cesaerean Keloid scar tugging

I have delivered my baby in Aug 2018 via cesaerean and even after more than a year, I still experience slight sharp pain with tugging sensation. Should I be worried about this? Thanks.

Thank you for your questions. The following answers regarding your current queries are just general descriptions due to the limited information provided by you. Click on this link (DoctorOnCall) for a private consultation with our doctors.

First and foremost, we truly understand your concerns regarding your symptoms and other health problems you might be facing. The information that you have given is not enough to give an exact overview for us. There may be some of the reason which you may feel pain on your scars. For instance:

  • Keloid (the excessive new tissue formation where it forms over the edge of the scar, usually associated with pain)
  • Hypertrophy scar (excessive new tissue formation but it does not form over the edge of the scar, less likely to have pain)
  • Incision scar rupture in the uterus (less likely in this case)

You should go to the doctor if you suffer from symptoms such as fever, abdominal pain, palpitation or trickling of blood from the vagina. It might indicate scar rupture in the uterus.

In order for us to provide you with an accurate choice of treatment and management, we need additional details to explore further into your current complaints. Therefore, we greatly suggest that you refer this to your nearest medical doctor. You may also click on this link (DoctorOnCall) to speak with our doctors online for free.
