Hi, im 34 y/o,male. Im Covid 19 ex patient. Did my swab test on 12/4 and result came positive. I’ve been quarantined at PKRC and released on 22/4. It is safe for me to have an intercourse with my partner? Thank you.

Hi, thank you for reaching out to us.

We understand your concern and needs, especially during this pandemic and being an ex-COVID-19 patient. For your information, you may engage in sexual activities with your partner when:

  • You have not had a fever for three full days without the use of medicine that reduces fevers
  • Other symptoms have resolved(for example, when your cough or shortness of breath have improved and resolved)
  • 10 days have passed after symptoms first started

Enjoy a beautiful moment with your loved one safely.

After these three things have all happened, you can be considered “recovered” and safe to have sex with your partner. However, a research found that the virus is still found in the nose for 10 days and stool for 20 days. Therefore it is advisable to wait for at least for 28 to 30 days before you can engage in sexual activities. Other than that, you also need to practice a good self hygiene before engaging with any sexual activities or general activities during this pandemic.

These are only our general information regarding your inquiry. If you need a second opinion, you may contact us at (DoctorOnCall) to talk with our doctors online via chat, phone call or audio call. Thank you.
