Enquiry on covid 19 testing

My family and I flew back to Malaysia from dubai on 24/3/2020 vis Emirates EK0342. We saw an alert posted by a passenger on the same flt that he has been tested positive for covid19. He sat at row 17 whereas we were at row 29. Since returning on 24th, i have been experiencing slight runny nose and a blocked ear. I am unsure if i need to go.for any testing since the posting could be fake news. Pls advise.

Greetings!

We understand your worries especially with the development of symptoms indicative but not exclusive of COVID-19.

For your information, any close contact of positive case neither they are present of symptoms or not, they are required to go for COVID-19 screening. By definition, close conctact are those who has been face to face for at least 15 minutes, or been in the same closed space for at least 2 hours, as someone who has tested positive for the COVID-19 when that person was infectious.

If the news is true, you’re advised to go for screening at any designated Hospital for COVID-19 near you.

You may consult a MOH doctor by clicking Ask Doctor at the Ministry of Health website (COVID-19 Portal) to ask any health issues related to COVID-19 starting from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.
