hello there, my friend’s roommate was tested positive yesterday. I have met this friend on 3rd and 5th april i was in contact with a friend and realise i had dry cough and some mild sinus /running nose symptoms. no fever as i know yet.
please advice what are the next steps to take and if testing is required. also, what is the recommended advice for someone to access a testing site without their own transportation? would self quarantine at home be much safer in this case ?

We understand your worries especially regarding the close contact to a positive COVID-19 patient. For your information, COVID-19 screening is usually subjected to patients that have experienced an ongoing fever. Although the criteria may change according to the situation, it is best that you seek immediate help from the nearby clinic or hospital as soon as possible. As far as I’m concerned, once you are considered a close contact to a positive coronavirus patient, you are required to do COVID-19 screening as well.

However, the onset of these symptoms may vary according to different individuals, ranging from few days to about 2 weeks after the virus transmission. On top of that, there were cases of asymptomatic carrier. Those that are able to transmit the virus without having any symptoms or complication of their own.
