Sensation of burning at the chest

As I wrote in earlier, I went to the doctor he told me is a reflux. After eating medication, I feel a burning sensation at my chest. Is this normal?

Thank you for your questions. First and foremost, we truly understand your concerns regarding your symptoms and other health problems you might be facing.

To answer your question, of course burning sensation at the chest is not normal. Since you already see the doctor and he gave you the diagnosis of reflux, which I believe would be gastroesophageal reflux (GERD), the sensation might be due to the relux.

So, my advice apart from taking medication would be:

  • Avoid food that you noticed would trigger the symptoms

  • Eat in smaller amount but frequent

  • Do not lie down right after meal

  • Lifestyle modification - stop smoking, maintain ideal weight

However, if the symptoms persist despite that on top of taking medication, I would suggest you to visit the doctor again.

This is just a general answer to your question. To know in details we greatly suggest that you refer this to your nearest medical doctor.
