Tumour Markers EBV EA IGA High

I took a blood test and the test shows my Tumour Markers EBV EA IGA level is high, the normal range should be below 127, but mine waas more than 150. What does it mean? and should i be concerned? I have no symptoms related to Nasopharyngeal Cancer.

Greetings. Thank you for your questions.

We truly understand your concern regarding the blood test result. For your information, expression of EBV (Epstein Barr Virus) antibody EA-IgA is among the examination in the implication of nasopharyngeal carcinoma diagnosis. However, other physical examination and complete history taking should be done before eliciting a diagnosis. EBV is an important non-invasive index for nasopharyngeal carcinoma. EA-IgA, SA, VCA-IgA , and Rta-IgG expression levels are high in nasopharyngeal patients. The combination of those serum indexes may improve the diagnosis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

To analyze the elevated antibody levels, the distribution of seropositivity by other factors such as family history, gender and age must be further evaluated. The diagnosis at the preclinical stage is very crucial to improve treatment efficacy and patient survival.
