Biotin deficiency

I am a 14 year old teenager who has been experiencing hair loss. I’d say my hair sheds more than the average number per day. This has been going on for a couple of months hence recently I started to retrace steps into finding out what could’ve possibly caused it. My dietary consists of a healthy and balanced meal as my family are strict. We avoid eating out as much as we could so I don’t think food is the problem here. As a student I do juggle with school and stress but never once have I overdid anything resulting physical symptoms. The worst that has happened is my skin breaking out due to stress. Furthermore, I start investigating my hair products. It has no parabens but an insane amount of SLS (sodium lauryl sulphate). I understand it acts as an agent to cleanse out the dirt and oil in hair but as most surfactant, it causes irritation and hair loss on sensitive scalps. I’ve heard of this ingredient called biotin? It says to promotes hair growth so I’m considering of changing to a biotin-based shampoo/ a SLS&ALS free shampoo soon. Moving on about biotin, I made some researches but I am still very unsure because you couldn’t really put 100% into the things you read online or even anywhere. I don’t mean to self diagnose myself but I have a few matching symptoms of biotin deficiency like hair loss, brittle nails, frequent upset stomach and sometimes red rashes on the skin. I’m thinking maybe I should take biotin supplements instead though I don’t have much understanding of how supplements work therefore I pass not wanting to possibly risking my health. As doctors, do you recommend me taking biotin supplements? If so, how much do I consume per day and when should I stop taking them?
