Covid 19 quarantine for housemaid from oversea
Hello Doctor,
If My philipino maid travel back to Malaysia after lockdown release, hopefully by 14th April.
Does my maid will send for quarantine center which arranged by Malaysian government when she reach airport?

Thank you for your question. For your information, your maid will not be quarantined unless she presents with symptoms suggestive of COVID-19. She should be under self-quarantine at home for 14 days where she monitors her health and report back to any designated hospitals for COVID-19 if COVID-19 symptoms manifests. You may visit the hospitals in this list for a COVID-19 screening test. (Designated Hospital for COVID-19).
According to WHO, the common symptoms of COVID-19 infection are:
- Fever (more than 37.5 degrees celcius)
- Fatigue
- Cough
- Aches and pains
- Sorethroat
- Headaches
- Shortness of breath
You may consult a MOH doctor by clicking Ask Doctor at the Ministry of Health website (COVID-19 Portal) to ask any health issues related to COVID-19 starting from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.
