I am having frequent headache/migrains

Hello Doc.

Lately, im having headache/migraines.
Eg. Today i have headache, i will take paracetamol for relief. Then by the next following day it will come back. If i dont take meds it will last for days.
Also major hairloss during bath and after bath as i comb my hair. I avoid oily foods, chocolates, nuts and i dont drink alcohol. I drink a lot of water to keep hydrations.
Last time i took a blood test and the doctor said nothing is wrong as everything is perfectly fine. What is happening actually?

Hello and thank you for expressing your concern.

It sounds like you have several issues going on at the same time, i understand that what you are describing is distressing for you. On one hand, you have been facing with headaches and your current way of treating it has not been fully effective, as it does not relieve the headache completely. On the other hand, you also seem to experience hair loss recently. These two complaints may be related, or it may not. To know for sure, you need to be seen by a doctor and have a full history taken as well as a thorough examination. It is also important to state specifically what sort of medication you are taking at the moment, so that the doctor could consider changing to a different drug, or assess if you are using your current medication properly as prescribed.

There are several types of headaches, and also many ways of treating them. If you feel like there is a tight band like pain across your head, you might be experiencing what is known as tension headache. These type of headaches are common, especially in young adults. It does not mean that these headaches should be overlooked, you might be under a lot of stress or pressure, which you yourself might not realise, which may also explain your recent hair loss issue. These headaches are a lot different to migraines, which is characteristically one sided, and comes with a throbbing sort of pain. if migraines go untreated, it may leave the sufferer in a debilitating state, often times unable to perform work or go to school.

Your hair loss issue may also be totally unrelated to your problem. Other common causes of hair loss include genetics, thyroid problems, chemicals, and many other. To fully know for sure, you are advised to see a doctor and give a full history as well.
