I am worried of contracting the coronavirus but I am not qualified for a test
I am a 24 years old male. I have been in contact with my manager who her husband had tested positive for the coronavirus today (24 March). The last time I had contact with her was last Tuesday, 17 March. It has been 8 days since I last had close contact with her and I do not have any symptoms whatsoever nor do the people I’ve come into contact with such as my family members since the MCO. My manager has not yet undergone a test, still awaiting for the MOH/KKM to contact her.
I have called Pantai Hospital for a test, however, I was told by them that I do not yet qualify the criteria for the test. I am worried of spreading this virus, what should I do at this point?

We understand your worries especially with the development of symptoms indicative but not exclusive of COVID-19.
For you information, WHO listed common symptoms for COVID-19 infection as follows:
- Fever (morea than 37.5 degrees celcius)
- Fatigue
- Cough
- Aches and pains
- Sorethroat
- Headaches
- Shortness of breath
You maybe eligible for the test if your manager is a positive COVID-19 patient. As for now, the test is only provided to high risk individuals such as closed contact of COVID-19 patients due to limited resources and high cost.
To assess your risk, you are encouraged to answer the quiz on Risk Assessment for COVID-19 to evaluate your health status in regards to this disease. After completing this quiz, you will be classified into several categories.
You may consult a MOH doctor by clicking Ask Doctor at the Ministry of Health website (COVID-19 Portal) to ask any health issues related to COVID-19 starting from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.
