  • Hi and thank you for the question. I understand it is an uncomfortable situation to be in with the symptoms that are going on your general health. Having a high temperature and painful throat sometimes can affects our daily productivity. Here are the few ways to help with the fever and sore throat:-
  • rest is the key: Hours of rest is the key relieving a cold. You may find your child need 10 hours of sleep each night, so don't need to set the alarm. Your child will be most comfortable in a humid and warm environment.

  • strepsils: strepsils will help you to ease the painful throat

  • honey: honey mixed with plain water or tea will oftenly helps as well. or it can be taken on its own

  • drink plenty of water: It's also vital to stay hydrated by drinking a lot of water. This will make mucus flow more easily and helps to ease the congestion

  • pain killer/paracetamol: paracetamol is used to reduce the body temperature and also acts as a pain killer. it also can be used in headaches, backache or colds

  • vitamin C: It is known that for the most part consuming vitamin C won’t help the average person prevent fever. However, eating vitamin C before the beginning of cold symptoms might shorten the duration of symptoms. Vitamin C can provide benefit for people at high risk of fever due to frequent exposure like people who is having a gathering with another group of people during cold or rainy season.

  • Last but not least, please do tell your GP so that a proper and further management can be planned. Cheers!
