im in a journey on losing weight, and some sources on google said that one of common symptoms after losing weight is low metabolism. so my question is lets say my daily intake of calories are 2000, do my daily calorie intake decrease if i have low metabolism? if so how much does it decrease. thank you doc
Thank you for choosing us to get an opinion regarding your health issues.
Based on your explanations, you want to know if you should reduce your calorie intake. Unfortunately, we cannot give any concrete opinion as we need more informations about your health. Eating too little calories can cause a major decrease in metabolism. Although a calorie deficit is needed for weight loss, it can be counterproductive for your calorie intake to drop too low. When you dramatically lower your calorie intake, your body senses that food is scarce and lowers the rate at which it burns calories.
You need to seek medical advice for an accurate answer regarding this situation.
I hope the above statement does help you in a way and if you need further assistance and explanations from us, you can talk to our doctor online. Thank you.
