Can I switch to a nebulizer on my own or do I need a prescription?

I’ve been using inhaler for a long time and recently I find it’s hard for me to use inhaler when I’m having an asthma attack. Can I switch to a nebulizer? Do I need a prescription or I can just buy it in the pharmacy? Thanks for answering!

First and foremost, we truly understand your concerns regarding your symptoms and other health problems you might be facing. From your complaints, I believe that it is important for you to see a doctor because it seems like the current treatment you have is not working anymore or your asthma aren’t under control. So, we need to figure out your asthma control and you might need additional treatment.

Regarding nebulizer, it is not a recommended treatment for asthma at home. This is because, it might delayed or hinder early treatment and might cause lethal to the patient. Hence, we won’t prescribed nebulizer to asthma patient.
