Mucus in the throat and blocked nose

I have mucus hanging in my throat make me at time uneasy to breathe have to keep on swallowing this make me difficult to sleep at night, at the same time my nose seems to block, what is the course.thank you.

Hello and good evening.Thank you for your questions.

For your information, your symptoms that you are currently experiencing are likely to be caused by a bacterial or viral infection at your throat, nasal cavity or your sinuses. If this mucus is preceded after a previous flu or clogged nose, it is likely to be known as Postnasal drip.

Excessive mucus secretion and inflamed nasal cavity might be the reason for your symptoms, and these can also can be caused by a severe allergic reaction that has contaminated the air you inhale, or the food you have eaten. Particularly, an allergic reaction only causes difficulty in breathing and excessive mucus in throat or nasal cavity without having any fever. If a fever seems to happen at anytime throughout your clogged throat and nose, it is more likely due to a viral or bacterial infection.
