Eye problem keratoconus

My brother having an eye problem and it’s keratoconus… left eye only… he just 27 years old and a married man… now he afraid to having a baby and postpone… he afraid keratoconus could be a genetic disease… so now my question is it’s really genetic disease that could be affect the baby???

Through the question and statement you gave on the above section, i completely understand your concern over this matter. For your information, most cases of keratoconus are not inherited. Some individuals can have keratoconus even without any family history of the condition.

But some cases are inherited, in which the parent has the condition and passes down the genes to the child. In some cases, it is inherited but the person does not show any sign or symptoms of the condition. I suggest for you to visit a specialist and get a proper consultation over this condition.
