Hi, thank you for the question. Since you have been using the ovulation period, it is a reliable tool if you are aware of your menstrual cycle pattern. First of all, determine the number of days in your menstrual cycle. Then subtract 14 days from the estimated date of the menstrual period to get the date of ovulation.

This is only applicable for a woman with a regular menstrual period. Woman with an irregular menstrual period is encouraged to use ovulation tracking or ovulation urine tests to get the fertile period correctly. Besides using an ovarian calender, you can estimate the date of ovulation based on the changes of vaginal mucus.

Just a few days before ovulation, you may notice your vaginal mucus becomes slippery, clear and slick. It feels like egg white and is a sign of ovulation. Sperm can travel much better in this type of mucus. If you have determined your fertile period correctly, you may need to repeat another urine pregnancy test.

You did the urine pregnancy test on the 6th day of your missed period. Ideally, it is recommended to do a urine pregnancy test on the 6th to 12th day after the missed period. However, there can be false negative results of the urine pregnancy test. It can be due to testing too early, diluted urine and rarely a hook effect. The most common cause of a false negative is testing too early.

The hormones tested by the urine pregnancy test kit is only produced by the placenta after successful implantation. Therefore, it may take up to 7-8 days in most women. Besides that, a diluted urine has less hormone to be picked up by the tests. Please talk to your healthcare providers for more information. Have a good day !!!
