Shortness of breath in evenings

Hello. I’ve been experiencing some shortness of breath which strangely only occurs in the evening and goes away when I eat something or sleep on my left side. This happened some months ago and when I visited the doctor at the time, I was cleared of any possible heart condition however was told that it may be due to gerd? Also, I don’t have coughs, fever, flu, sore throat, headaches or diarrhea. I do happen to sneeze when my dog is around or when it’s dusty.
