When is the earliest pregnancy test can detect?

when is the earliest pregnancy test can detect if I am pregnant? I am late for a month already. I try to test with pregnancy test. but it came out negative.is it because is too early?

Greetings. Thank you for your questions.

Usually, if you are pregnant, the urine pregnancy test (UPT) can detect it 2 weeks after you missed your period. However, there are some other situations that might give you a false-negative results. Such as:

  • Faulty product

  • Wrong usage

  • Pregnant with twin- In this case, the hormone is too high to be detected by UPT

  • Ectopic pregnancy

Other than that, delay in menstrual cycle can be due to other problem apart from pregnancy in cases like:

  • Age- the flow and timing of the menstrual cycle change by time

  • Bodyweight and diet- being overweight and underweight can affect the menstrual cycle

  • Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)- due to hormonal imbalance, maturation process of the egg is stunted

  • Medication- such as contraceptive pill, medication for depression and seizure

  • Hormonal imbalance due to stress, emotion, too active and packed schedule
