Blur line on the pregnancy test kit
Hi. My period was late for 11 days and I’ve taken a home pregnancy test. The result shows one clear line and one blur line. Is it consider positive or else?

For your information, there are various causes that may cause the line on the self-UPT kit to give out a blur or negative line. Here are some examples:
- Wrong usage technique
- The hCG hormone is too low for the kit to detect
- Twin or multiple pregnancy: In this case, the hormone is too high for the kit to detect
- Broken test kit
We suggest you to seek a doctor’s attention as the reading may give a false negative reading. Confirmatory investigation should be done to rule out whether you are pregnant or otherwise.
Is your period late than usual? Get a confirmation to see whether you are pregnant or not.
There are also few reasons why a woman may have her menstruation delayed or uneven:
- Polycystic ovarian syndrome
- Hormonal imbalance
- Problem with the pituitary and thyroid glands
- Pregnancy
