Constant Feeling in My Throat that has been occurring over a month that won’t go away

I am a 19 year old male. For the last month and a half I have had a constant feel like something is stuck in my throat along with occasional throat soreness and infrequent feeling that I need to cough. I have not had this feeling before and it causes me to constantly think about my swallowing especially when I am eating and has made it hard to sleep because I am afraid it is a serious throat issue. I was wondering if I should get it checked or if there is something else I could do to help.
