Cough and flu symptoms
I lived in Johor Bahru. Age 69 years. 10/3 had sorethroat, followed by flu-like symptoms but no fever yet. Not on any medication just salt water gargle and plenty of water. Shall I go to health clinic for screening of covid-19. One of my friend has been admitted in ICU for covid 19 in Hospital Permai, but we did not have any physical contact prior to his admission >14 days. Thanks

Thank you for your question. Based on your symptoms of cough and flu, you are encouraged to answer the quiz on Risk Assessment for COVID-19 to evaluate your health status in regards to this disease. After completing this quiz, you will be classified into several categories. KKM hospital will prioritize those of high risk for the infection. The decision of whether a person needs to be checked is depending on the doctor’s evaluation of the patient’s history and risks. - Fever (more than 37.5 degrees celcius)
- Fatigue
- Cough
- Aches and pains
- Sorethroat
- Headaches
- Shortness of breath
Besides COVID-19 infection, symptoms of cough and flu can be caused by other health problems such as:
- Other bacterial or viral infection
- Asthma
- Allergic Rhinitis
- Pneumonia
- Tuberculosis
- COPD
