Hi Doc. I have some enquiries. I’ve met with a work colleague on Tuesday (12th Jan). And yesterday Sunday (17th Jan) she informed me that she was confirmed with +ve Covid-19. She said that she had met with another friend, whom later informed her that she was a confirmed +ve Covid-19 too. And that friend of mine asked me to do a swab test as well. And i just came back from jogging when she texted me.
Doc, do i still need to do a swab test? Because until today i do not have any simptoms. And if i do, is there any free swab-testing still available in my area as i am staying in Ampang? I tried to call Ampang Hospital and the KKM Hotline for clarification but unreachable.
Thank you for your question.
We understand your worries especially regarding the close contact to a positive COVID-19 patient. For your information, COVID-19 screening is usually subjected to patients that have experienced an ongoing fever. Although the criteria may change according to the situation, it is best that you seek immediate help from the nearby clinic or hospital as soon as possible. As far as I’m concerned, once you are considered a close contact to a positive coronavirus patient, you are required to do COVID-19 screening as well.
