How do the dosing schedules differ between Dengvaxia and Qdenga Dengue Vaccine?
Hi, i want to get a dengue vaccination and saw that there are 2 options, Dengvaxia and Qdenga. Is there a difference in their dosing time? I would prefer one that is quicker

Good morning!
Thank you for your question. Vaccines can be a hassle for people with perhaps busy schedules when it comes to their dosages, so it can be helpful to know beforehand before you commit to one vaccine or another.
Dengvaxia typically requires three doses to be administered six months apart. Qdenga Dengue Vaccine dosing schedules may vary depending on regulatory approvals and recommendations but usually involve two doses given three months apart.
This makes Qdenga a more attractive option for people who either have busy schedules or are planning to travel to a region with a high risk of dengue. Additionally, Qdenga doesn’t require the patient to have been previously infected by the dengue virus, unlike Dengvaxia. This makes Qdenga a more accessible option for the general public.
Of course, certain exceptions can be made to your dosage schedules depending on either your health condition or other non-health related reasons. However, it is important to consult a health professional before deciding to alter your vaccination schedule.
