Suspicious of the effectiveness of 75% medical alcohol wipes as the smell of alcohol is not strong and cannot be ignited by lighter
Recently I bought a few packs of 75% medical alcohol wipes. When i open it, the alcohol smell is mild, have to be very close to the alcohol wipes only can smell the alcohol. It is strange that it cannot be ignited by fire. I am suspicious about the product. Then, I asked back the supplier and they claimed that it is truly strong enough to kill viruses and bacteria. I looked at the materials used to produce the wipes and found out only 30% of 75% medical alcohol content, plus 0.15% of Quaternary Ammonium Salt. Hence, I wish to seek for clarification and advice from doctor if this product is a fake wipes. Thank you.

Greetings. Thank you for your question.
From the above explanation, I don’t think that neither trying to burn the wipes and see if it catch on fire or by smelling it is a method to check the content of alcohol in the wipes.
On top of that 75% or more of alcohol content is recommended and enough to kill virus and bacteria. In my opinion, the content of your wipe is 30% alcohol that have concentration of 75% and the rest is other content as written on the product.
I understand your worry since there’s a lot of people are trying to deceived others during this hard time. But, rest assure, not everyone like that. I guess there’s no problem with your wipes.
