Vision going black and waking up thirsty

I am a 20 year old student. Very recently, I’ve been experiencing things like my vision going black when I stand up after lying down or sitting and also waking up really thirsty. These 2 symptoms are very recent as I have never really experienced these symptoms before. Is there anything that I should be worried about?

First and foremost, we truly understand your concerns regarding your symptoms and other health problems you might be facing. Waking up feeling thirsty is a normal thing especially if the temperature is hot or you are using air-conditioner without humidifier. This will make the air dry, thus causing your mouth to be dryer when you are sleeping.

When you switch positions form laying down or sitting down to standing up, your blood pressure may drop by a little. If you do it to rapidly, you may experience blurry vision. This is called postural hypotension. This may be caused by;

  • Dehydration
  • Prolonged laying down
  • Heart conditon
  • Anemia
  • Diseasea of the endocrine system
  • Hot weather

In order for us to provide you with an accurate choice of treatment and management, we need additional details to explore further into your current complaints.
