Coughing thick and long sputum

Good evening Dr , I have been experiencing this back when I was in mu secondary school but at that time it was not so frequent. However , I started to frequently having this kind of sputum when i coughed during my semester break last time (last year around August) . I realised that it comes along with difficulty to breath and I feel like something is stuck in mu throat so i keep coughing to get rid of that sputum. It doesnt look like the usual sputum that we have when we are sick but this one is thick , a bit jelly-like and seems like a string but a jelly-like string. It get worse when I consumed oily food where it will be more yellowish . I feel uncomfortable whenever I could breath fine. For now I tried to avoid oily food to reduce the sputum in my throat . May I know why do I get this ?

Thank you Dr
