Self suspecting Covid19 Symptoms

Im 28yo. I have flu, cough, phlegm & diarrhoea but no fever on 20/3/20(thurs) night. Then i consulted GP on fri morning and doctor diagnosed with no fever. I had antibiotics till today. Kind of feeling better but stil fatigue with some cough and phlegm causing not smooth on breathing. So, whats the advice from doctor on my current situation?

**i never been to any foreign countries within these 6 months.

We understand your worries especially with the development of symptoms indicative but not exclusive of COVID-19.

For you information, WHO listed common symptoms for COVID-19 infection as follows:

  • Fever (morea than 37.5 degrees celcius)
  • Fatigue
  • Cough
  • Aches and pains
  • Sorethroat
  • Headaches
  • Shortness of breath

For your information, diarrhea is not a common complaint of Covid-19 patients. However, as you may already aware, other symptoms that you have mentioned such as sorethroat and cough are not specific to COVID-19 but can be presented in other conditions such as in common flu and other infections by bacteria or other viruses.

Besides COVID-19, sorethroat can be due to various

  • influenza
  • tonsillitis
  • trauma
  • Common cold

Nevertheless, we still need to assess your risk of COVID-19 infection. Therefore, you are encouraged to answer the quiz on Risk Assessment for COVID-19 to evaluate your health status in regards to this disease. After completing this quiz, you will be classified into several categories and further actions suggested will be provided according to the classification.

You are advised to monitor your symptoms and limit contact with other person. Practice hand washing and hand hygine and well as wear protective mask when you interact with other people.
